Michelle A. Herrera, PhD
Michelle A. Herrera, Ph.D. is an organizational consultant and licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in promoting workplace resilience, improving workplace dynamics, supporting leadership development, and guiding organizational change management. Dr. Herrera has years of experience providing evidence-based interventions to improve employee engagement, foster collaboration and effective communication, and drive sustainable growth within high-demand work environments. She has worked with professionals in high stress environments across various sectors including legal, financial, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations geared toward social justice reform. In addition to her consulting role, Dr. Herrera is also a staff psychologist and associate professor at NY Presbyterian-Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). She has extensive training working through a trauma-informed lens with marginalized and specialized groups including active and veteran servicemen and women, incarcerated mothers, trauma-exposed attorneys, and immigrants and refugees. Dr. Herrera has experience working with national and international employees facing workplace stressors in a constantly evolving global environment. Through WorkHaven, she has led resilience groups, individual coaching, workshops, retreats and trainings on topics ranging from productivity in distributed workplaces to managing burnout and vicarious trauma. Her work emphasizes understanding the individual within the organization through collaborative exploration and how to improve the functioning of both.
