We Help You Thrive

Dana Ashley, LMSW

As an organizational consultant, behavior specialist and former Director/Founder of the Positive Learning Collaborative (PLC), Dana brings a wealth of experience to Workhaven in transforming educational and mental health practices in schools. Her work at PLC, a collaboration with the United Federation of Teachers and NYC Department of Education, focused on creating healing-centered, equitable educational communities, with a special emphasis on supporting students of color and students with special needs.

With over fifteen years in the field, Dana has worked to reduce the impact of punitive discipline, and racism on school communities. Her approach combines social-emotional support, restorative practices, and culturally responsive pedagogy, significantly reducing disciplinary incidents and improving academic performance in schools.

Dana’s background in social work, advocating for mentally ill and underserved populations, and as a behavior specialist, has deeply informed her current mission: to nurture inclusive, empathetic environments in schools, businesses, and families, focusing on holistic growth and well-being for all.
